ABOUT

Stories are an essential part of the human experience. Nothing captures attention like a story. Nothing is remembered as well as a story. And the amazing part is, all of us have one we can tell. Whether that be one from real life, or something fiction. Our experiences shape our stories and the way we think, and I believe it is important to use those experiences and the thoughts they’ve created to share with people. Sharing stories is a way of sharing a part of ourselves so we can understand other perspectives and creative visions. This is why I love it. I love the curiosity stories ignite inside me, I love the way they capture my attention like nothing else, and I love that a story can be told through so many different mediums,

I share my stories through film, writing, and photography.

I love sharing stories through film because it allows so much creativity in how you relay information.  You can use lighting and camera angles to express the importance of someone or something, or express a shocking discovery through a simple look on an actor's face, and the coloring and music of a scene can determine whether the audience will feel anxious or happy. I think it's so amazing how visuals have the ability to make people feel so involved in the story you are telling. That's why I love movies. There is so much technique and intent in each scene and the connection of them all is so intriguing that your body physically reacts to it.  You can be anxious, excited, sad, or happy in a span of 5 minutes or an hour into watching. In every film I make I try to invoke emotions within the viewer by emulating these techniques I have learned from movies and tv. Because the moment you capture their emotions, you capture their attention and memory retention. In my free time I enjoy studying the story formats in movies as well as their scene intentions.

Writing allows me to discover the best way to express what I want to say when it can be otherwise difficult to say aloud. It also acts as a way of organization and connection for my mind. In storytelling, writing helps me think through and connect completely absurd ideas (that make no sense) to other absurd or logical ones until they do. Which is something I admire in authors and screenwriters. When I write essays and school papers I can always find joy in discovering the perfect words to say exactly what I mean.

Photography is another way I enjoy sharing stories visually. Photos are still stories meant to keep a moment in time safe. To me, taking photos and videos is a precious passion. Capturing the best and most beautiful moments of whatever I am experiencing in life brings me joy and a sense of comfort. I believe photographs allow the moment to last longer because when you look back at them , even long after it's over, for a moment you can still feel what it was like to be there. My favorite photos to take are when I travel or go to concerts. I also edit my photos in Adobe Lightroom in order to help them reach their full potential color, lighting, and aesthetic wise.

I’ve been writing and filming stories for 11 years because connecting my ideas and bringing the vision in my head to the screen satisfies me like nothing else. Working with people who have the same passion makes the experience so much more fun, and the end result and reactions to our projects is the best part. Nothing makes me happier than making people laugh or smile and I want my films and creative work to always make that possible.
